Two Kind Hands
Though they've stepped into autumn’s land,
Two old friends, side by side they stand.
Two souls with voices intertwined,
Bound by love, so warm, so kind.
Two wrinkled faces, aged yet bright,
Who has seen love so pure, so right?
Two birds soaring in the sky,
Together they rise, together they fly.
Longing always for their dear,
Hearts weighed down by sorrow near.
Leaning on a wooden cane,
Behold this scene, so pure, so plain.
I saw the sky within their eyes,
A sun of love that never dies.
Stature tall like a steadfast tree,
With hearts as fresh as spring’s decree.
Far removed from wicked ways,
Their love so pure, a shining blaze.
Together carrying light and grace,
May their souls stay safe, their steps embraced.
